About Luis Machicao

Luis Machicao  has shown his collections at fashion shows around the world since 1991. He travels the world looking for inspiration, his recent trips where Turquia, the British island of Sta. Lucia, Amsterdam and París when he got enough ideas to finish his spring-summer 2021 collection .

 

He was commissioned  by the President and First Lady of Peru to serve his country because of his impeccable taste for 15 years.

He dressed latin american presidents,  celebrities and socialites among TV Mini Series, soap operas, Theatre as well as designed for 50 motion pictures worldwide, also worked in the international hit Hunger Games.

​

He is been related with Hollywood actor Erik Estrada working with him in more than 3 films as well as actress Dyan Cannon,  Chilean writer Isabel Allende, Mr. Ted Kennedy and other celebrities in the political and entertainment area.
 

He also works for the Miss USA circuit doing pageant gowns for Miss Alabama, Miss SC, Miss Louisiana for the Trump Enterprises, also worked with the Primer Minister and First Lady of Sta Lucia creating the Fashion Program for the oldest College in the island.

 

His Public  persona was portrayed in 240 magazines including Southern Living, South Park magazine, The Charlotte Observer, Society magazine and "Vanidades" the spanish version of Vanity Fair.

 

After presenting his 2014 Spring Collection at New York Fashion Week he won the coveted "Best Designer" Award in Paris while showing his collection at Paris Tiffany Fashion Week, making him the most high profile designer from Charlotte and the only one showing his collections in the world capital of fashion.

 

Mr. Machicao launched his own Fragrance line..The fragrances for men and woman has been sold in USA in selected high end boutiques.

A former UNC Chapell Hill teaching his students the class of “Product Design“ at the Mesh Workroom- Huffman School of Media And Journalism.
